CountyClean Group supports Cancer Research UK at Eastbourne Business Awards

Leaders of local businesses large and small united at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne for the town’s most prestigious business awards event to celebrate the winners whilst raising money for a world leading cancer charity on Friday, 4th November 2016.

During the exciting Eastbourne Business Awards, Mike Walker our Managing Director, went on stage to thank all those involved in making the awards ceremony such a memorable one as well as congratulating all nominees, “we are very impressed at the quality of the businesses and individuals that have been nominated this year! It really does illustrate that this town has some seriously talented, hardworking and entrepreneurial people and I’m so pleased to be up here helping to recognise you all. Every single one of the nominees is a winner in my book.”

After an introduction to the company’s history and plans for the future, Mike encouraged everyone in the room to dig deep for a charity very close to his heart, Cancer Research UK, for which the events’ attendees raised a wonderfully generous £855.

The fundraising collection was conducted by Amy Woods, Shop Manager for the Eastbourne branch of Cancer Research UK, who adds “we are very grateful indeed to Mike and CountyClean Group for choosing our charity for this year’s Eastbourne Business Awards and wish them all the best for the future. It was really lovely to be a part of the event!”

The Nobel Prize winning charity carries out exceptional life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of different forms of cancer. Despite cancer rates rising every year, the charity’s innovative work has contributed to the increasing survival rates and its ambition is to see 3 in 4 people surviving cancer within 20 years.

The awards ceremony was opened by Keith Ridley of Johnston Press in East Sussex, was hosted by the BBC’s The One Show presenter Nick Wallis and sponsored by local companies including W. Bruford, Fusciardi’s Ice Cream Parlour and the Rotary Club of Eastbourne, with CountyClean Group as the headline event sponsor.
