Grease traps (or fat traps and grease separators) are an essential part of any commercial or industrial kitchen. It is vital that they work efficiently so that they prevent grease, fat, oils and grease from entering and contaminating as well as causing blockages in drainage systems.
Planning Ahead for your Grease Trap Emptying
Blockages can also cause health and safety risks such as hygiene problems, floods where waste backs up the drainage system and foul odours in your commercial or industrial kitchen.
If your grease trap is not emptied and thoroughly maintained, waste that is left for too long can cause damage to your grease or fat trap through the release of toxic substances.
We recommend that you keep an eye on the level of waste in your grease trap and that when is it 25% full of solids it must be cleaned.
If your grease trap is the correct size for your kitchen then this will tend to need emptying every 3 months maximum. For more information on grease traps, see our blog here.
When you are busy you will know just how quickly grease and fat can build up limiting the effectiveness of your grease trap. By planning ahead and implementing our regular grease trap cleaning and emptying service, you can save time and money by avoiding costly call-outs and repairs.
Our rates are highly competitive and our grease trap emptying service offers unbeatable value for money.
In December 2019 we received a new Rioned Urban Combi unit. This unit is our most compact vehicle and is ideal in assisting with the emptying of smaller commercial grease traps.
This vehicle has the ability to empty grease traps that have traditionally been difficult to access with standard tankers.
Built on a reliable Ford Ranger chassis and with a maximum height of 1.85 metres, this compact four-wheel-drive combination unit is ideal for operation in with restricted access. These areas include narrow city streets, underground car parks and rural areas with difficult terrain.
The Urban Combi’s hose reel carries 80 metres of light-weight jetting hose with a total waste capacity of 1,200 litres, remote control functions and two powerful pumps (one a high pressure jetting pump and a vacuum pump) the unit makes light work of removing the most stubborn blockages and hard deposits.
