Client Requirement
CountyClean was appointed to carry out pond desilting works and the removal of non-hazardous silt and wastewater from a pond located within Hastings at Alexandra Park. The objective was to restore the pond’s condition while ensuring minimal disruption and full compliance with relevant regulations and the Environment Agency guidelines.
Our Approach
Our team attended site with a specialist fleet, including combination jet/vac units, a 27,000L articulated vacuum tanker and 18,000L vacuum tankers.
A safe working area was established prior to operations, ensuring the safety of both our team and members of the general public within the park.
To carry out the pond desilting process, our Combination Unit was used to:
- Agitate compacted silt deposits
- Break down accumulated waste within the pond
- Vacuum up the resulting slurry efficiently
This method ensured effective silt removal while maintaining control and precision throughout the operation.

Waste Management
Once extracted, the waste was transformed into our high capacity vacuum tankers. This enabled efficient off-site transportation, reducing downtime and maximising productivity.
All the collected waste was transported and disposed of at an authorised waste disposal facility, ensuring full compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

Outcome
- Successful completion of pond desilting works
- Efficient removal of silt and wastewater build-up
- Safe working environment maintained throughout
- Minimal disruption within a public park setting
- Fully compliant waste transport and disposal
Conclusion
This project demonstrates CountyClean’s expertise in delivering pond desilting in Hastings, alongside wider liquid waste removal services, using specialist equipment and experienced teams to achieve efficient, compliant results.
